A node everyone had written off

Three developers had taken the published TSO figures at face value and moved on. We rebuilt the constraint picture from three years of measured nodal data and found two of four proposed configurations still cleared the threshold.

What the study is worth

Eleven weeks and a fixed fee, against a programme that would otherwise not have started. The client kept the model.

What went wrong

We were wrong about one of the two viable options; the developer built it anyway and it works.
