Four rounds
The first submission was refused on landscape grounds, the second on birds, the third on access. The fourth moved six machines and reduced the tip height by twelve metres, and it was consented in nine weeks.
The year that missed
Year one produced 7% below the P50 case. Re-running the wake model at a finer grid explained most of it, and the correction is now in every ridge assessment we do.
What went wrong
Year one came in 7% under P50. We had modelled the ridge wake with too coarse a grid.
